This 1-day course provides an interesting introduction to Environmental issues which are becoming increasingly important, the key issues covered include pollution, waste management, transport, energy and water. This SEATS course aims to raise awareness of environmental issues and is especially aimed at construction activities.

The delegate will gain knowledge and understanding in;

  • What is meant by the term ‘environment’
  • How to deal with archaeology and heritage on a construction project
  • Effective waste management
  • Pollution controls, and why the environment should be protected
  • The use of environmental management systems
  • Why it is important to be a good neighbour and responsible contractor

Who Should Attend?

This course is aimed at Site Managers and Supervisors, but would be just as useful to all employees working in construction activities.

Please note;   This is the course that meets the basic environmental knowledge that the sub-contract chain is required to prove to major contractors.

Assessment & Exam

This is a highly interactive course delivered by means of exercises and case studies, classroom discussion and group work. You will be continuously assessed and required to successfully complete a multiple- choice test.


Successful candidates will be awarded the CITB Site Safety Plus, Site Environmental Awareness Training Scheme Certificate (SEATS). This certificate will remain valid for 5 years.
