- All work areas, including sites, workplaces and equipment, are secured from unauthorised access., and the public are protected from hazards arising from the works.
- A risk assessment is carried out by a competent person on each site, to determine the extent of the security and protective measures required.
- The extent of the security arrangements is proportionate to the surrounding environment, the risks involved with the site, and the duration of the works.
- The security arrangements are sufficient to secure the work area during the working day and out-of-hours.
- Security arrangements are checked and reviewed on a regular basis by site supervisors or managers.
- Additional security arrangements are put in place for high risk areas such as plant compounds, waste and storage areas.
- Where required by the risk assessment, additional protection is put in place to protect the public.
- The public are protected from the hazards arising from the work activities, including noise, dust, fumes and flying particles.
- Where required by the risk assessment, solid hoarding or demolition screens are erected at the site perimeter.
