Employees of [My Company]

For the purpose of Health and Safety;
Employees include; persons directly employed by the Company and any self-employed persons who undertake work on behalf of the Company.

All employees have legal duties placed upon them under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and relevant legislation.

  1. To take reasonable care for their own health and safety, and that of other persons (including members of the public) who may foreseeably be affected by their acts or omissions at work.
  2. Co-operate with their employer so far as is necessary for him to comply with any duty or requirement under any of the ‘relevant statutory provisions’
  3. Not to intentionally or recklessly interfere with or misuse anything provided for the purpose of health and safety at work in furtherance of a statutory requirement, i.e. Personal Protective Equipment.
  4. To report any accidents, incidents or near misses immediately/as soon as possible (dependant on severity) to a supervisor, and ensure the relevant details are entered in the accident book
  5. When on site; follow all site rules and procedures and ensure that they are aware of any emergency procedures, i.e. fire, accident, etc. that are applicable to the site.
  6. Only, carry out work, and use any plant and equipment, that they have received training for, and are deemed competent to undertake.
  7. To comply with any specific rules laid down by their employer that have been deemed necessary to reduce the risk to their health and safety
  8. Report, and take out of use immediately, any defective or damaged tools and equipment. Do not attempt repair unless competent and authorised to do so.
  9. Ensure that any Personal Protective Equipment provided is; maintained, used and stored in a suitable manner, and any defects are reported to your supervisor.
  10. Do not undertake a work activity until a suitable and sufficient assessment has been carried out, and the results; safe system of work etc. has been communicated to them and others who might be affected by the activity.
  11. To comply with any specific rules imposed by a client whilst engaged on their premises.
  12. Communicate all matters of concern relating to health and safety, as they arise, to the appropriate supervisor.
