Prior to commencement, all operatives must undergo a site-specific induction, which will include a detailed briefing on the unique aspects of data and telecommunications work, including: Supervision will be provided by a competent person with extensive experience in data and telecommunications projects. This individual will ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with the method statement and risk assessments. Regular toolbox talks will be conducted to address any emerging issues or updates related to the project, with a focus on maintaining high standards of safety and quality specific to telecommunications installations. All personnel must be familiar with the emergency procedures relevant to data and telecommunications work, including the safe shutdown of systems and equipment in the event of an incident. Fibre optic cable waste requires special attention due to its non-biodegradable nature. It should be collected in dedicated containers and sent to a facility capable of processing such materials. All personnel involved in the project must be briefed on the waste management procedures during site inductions. Regular audits will be conducted to ensure compliance with the waste management protocols, and any non-compliance will be addressed promptly.
