Services and isolations
Before any removal or installation activities, ensure that all relevant services are isolated. This includes switching off electrical circuits and securing them with lockout devices to prevent accidental re-energisation. Water services should be shut off at the main valve if they are in the vicinity of the work area.
Verification of isolation must be conducted by a qualified electrician or plumber, as appropriate, to confirm that all services are safely isolated. Documentation of this verification should be maintained on-site for the duration of the project.
All personnel involved in the glazing works must be informed of the isolated services and the location of any live services that cannot be isolated. Clear signage should be displayed to indicate areas where services remain live.
