Waste materials shall be segregated at the source into designated categories, including concrete offcuts, packaging materials, and general waste. Clearly labelled skips or containers will be provided on-site for each waste type to facilitate proper segregation.
Concrete offcuts and any excess material shall be collected and stored in a designated area. These materials will be assessed for potential reuse or recycling. Where feasible, concrete waste shall be crushed and reused as aggregate on-site or transported to an authorised recycling facility.
Packaging materials, such as plastic wrapping and wooden pallets, shall be separated from other waste streams. Plastic materials will be compacted and sent for recycling, while wooden pallets will be returned to the supplier for reuse or disposed of through a licenced waste contractor.
A waste management log shall be maintained on-site, documenting the type and quantity of waste generated, along with details of disposal or recycling. Waste transfer notes and consignment notes will be retained for all waste removed from the site to ensure traceability and compliance with the Duty of Care regulations.
